Family Photographer in Mauritius

You're on holiday.

You've been planning this for months: the flights, the resort, the dinners.
Your children are small, or almost grown, or gathered together for the first time in years.

This is exactly the right moment for a family photoshoot in Mauritius.

I know these beaches, this light, this island.

And I know how to make an hour together feel like the best part of your whole trip.

Wondering what to look for when booking a family photographer in Mauritius?
Here's what I'd consider:
How to Choose the Right Photographer for Your Family Holiday in Mauritius

Family of four enjoying the beach with palm trees and cloudy sky in the background. The father is carrying his daughter on his shoulders, and the mother is laughing with her son. They are all smiling and barefoot on the sand.

Whether You're Traveling With Toddlers or Teenagers

Family photoshoots in Mauritius are designed to work for every version of family and every stage of holiday chaos.

  • Young children who need to move, run, and take breaks

  • Teenagers who'd rather be anywhere else (I've got them)

  • Large extended families with three generations in the frame

  • Families where one or two people really don't love cameras

  • Parents who want at least one photo where they're actually in it

Whatever your family looks like, a session with me is built around you; not around a shot list.

What Your Mauritius Family Photoshoot Looks Like

Your Mauritius photoshoot is usually about an hour; long enough to settle in, short enough that nobody runs out of patience. We meet at your chosen location (or I come to your resort), and from there I guide you gently through a series of natural interactions: walking together, playing, sitting with each other. No stiff lines. No 'everyone say cheese.'

Within two weeks, you'll receive a private online gallery of 40+ beautifully edited images, ready to download, print, and keep forever.

My favourite part about a family photo session is showing families images of themselves that feel how love looks.

Five women smiling and talking on a beach with palm trees and a cloudy sky in the background.
A family of four on a sandy beach with palm trees and a rocky cliff in the background; the mother and father are embracing and smiling, while two children stand on the sand, one holding the other's hand.

The Best Locations for Your Mauritius Family Photoshoot

I'll help you choose the right location based on your family, the light, and where you're staying. Wherever you are on the island, I'll come to you.

The dramatic basalt peninsula on the south-west coast. Shallow turquoise lagoons, fine white sand, and the iconic mountain backdrop. One of the most photographically striking locations on the island, best at golden hour when the light goes warm and soft.

I've photographed families at The St Regis, Le Paradis, Dinarobin, and RIU Hotels and I know exactly where the best spots are on each property.

Even if you’re not staying at a resort in Le Morne, I know the perfect spot to take you.

Le Morne

A long stretch of calm, west-facing beach that catches the last of the evening light beautifully. Epic sunsets. Less dramatic than Le Morne but wonderfully relaxed; great for families with young children who need space to run.

I've photographed families at Sugar Beach, La Pirogue, Maradiva, Sands and others. Even if you’re not staying at a resort in Flic en Flac, I know the perfect spot for your family photo session.

Flic en Flac

My home base and one of the most naturally beautiful corners of Mauritius. The river estuary, the bay, the national park, and the surrounding hills give sessions here a lush, unhurried quality that's hard to find anywhere else on the island.

Tamarin & Black River

The north coast is home to some of Mauritius's most iconic resort beaches; calm, sheltered waters and long stretches of sand that photograph beautifully in the late afternoon light. I've worked extensively with families staying at Beachcomber Victoria, Canonniers, Trou aux Biches, Mauricia, the InterContinental, Maritim, Le Méridien, Veranda, LUX Grand Gaube, and The Royal Palm. So if you're based up north, you're in good hands.

Grand Baie & the North

The east coast has a quieter, more secluded feel: longer beaches, spacious resorts, fewer crowds, and a different quality of light that makes for stunning late-day sessions. I've photographed families at Constance Prince Maurice, Shangri-la le Touessrok, Constance Belle Mare Plage, The Four Seasons Anahita, LUX Belle Mare, and Long Beach, and know each property well.

What People Are Saying

"The photos produced were like nothing we had ever seen before…

…with such natural emotion being captured in each shot against the most beautiful backdrop of Mauritius in its pure beauty. The photos caught the emotion, detail and have such a personal feel to them. Sita’s style was exactly what we were looking for, being candid and natural, but capturing small details and heart-felt expression; making us feel comfortable in her presence. Sita’s communication throughout the entire process has been impeccable, and showed us how much she cares about what she does and about us. Our shoot day was perfect, and it is thanks to Sita that we have photographs that will hold eternal memories. For anyone considering Sita’s services, you’ll be making the best choice, the experience and end products are truly worth it..”

“Thank you Sita! This was the second time that you photographed our family and the photos are so beautiful.

It is no easy task to get 16 people, young and old-ish looking good at the same time. We will have these photos as a memory of an amazing holiday and a reminder of how important family is!”

“I am just over the moon that I have found Sita for our first family shooting on Mauritius. I knew from the beginning she was the right person.

The style of the pictures, her positive and kind energy as well as her professional work from the beginning to the end.

Sita has the eye and heart to catch the most beautiful out of a moment. She is a calm and focused photographer with the ease that made us feel super comfortable for our first shoot with our kids. She has a lot of ideas and kind way to make everyone comfortable.

I was so excited receiving our pictures and was so blown away, as I did not expect them to be so cool, beautiful, funny, honest, cute, romantic and perfect.

Your Memories, Preserved

Photography is one of the few things that grows more valuable over time. Long after your tan fades and the suitcases are unpacked, the fancy dinners forgotten, your photos will still be there; little but priceless reminders of your family’s laughter, your connection, your time together in Mauritius.

If you’re ready to plan your family session, I’d love to help.
