Mauritius Newborn Photographer | Your family's legacy

I have a (literally) dark little secret.

I don't have any printed photos of my children when they were newborns. The digital files hide in the dark in the cloud and on various external hard drives.

That's why it's so important to me that the families who trust me to capture this rare time time in life receive beautifully and professionally printed artwork to display on their walls or keep in an heirloom album. And that's also why I include print credit in every collection.

After choosing your image collection you'll have hundreds of dollars in print credit to spend in my online store on beautifully framed matted prints or heirloom albums.

I want to make it easy for you to display your family's legacy.

This beautiful family chose a large matted framed print of this special moment when they were welcoming Wyatt.

Mauritius Honeymoon Photographer

It’s a story which involves the birth of a baby, a couple on honeymoon and a hurricane-like storm - which all converged on the same day!
In addition to being a Mauritius photographer, I’m also a trained birth doula (a woman who helps and comforts another woman in childbirth) and birth photographer. Two years ago, I was a doula and photographer for the birth of my friend Lindsay’s first baby and she called me again as soon as she got a positive test asking if I could be a doula for her second baby.
Luck would have it that the baby decided to come on the same day I had a shoot scheduled for Daria and Hugo On honeymoon From Sweden. Luckily, it all worked out, down to the very last minute, and I was able to make it to Daria and Hugo in the North of the Mauritius at TUI Sensimar Lagoon just in time after the birth of Lindsay's baby (I did have my lovely friend photographer Natalie on standby as a back up just in case).
I called Daria on my way: "How's the weather up there?" I asked. "It looks like a hurricane outside!" she replied. "Well, I'm on my way!" I said and I arrived in the pouring rain and we got started. We just shot away and embraced the wind. Daria and Hugo couldn't have been sweeter or more fun to work with. Or more gorgeous and in love. Just look at them! They were adventurous and trusted me, even when I suggested they climb on wet rocks. We laughed so much! This day was much more memorable than a perfect blue sky day. And it reminded me of this quote by Vivian Greene:

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Sugar Cane, Sunset, Big Waves and a Sweet Family | Mauritius Holiday Photographer

One of the things I love most about my job as a Mauritius family photographer is getting to meet people from all over the world. This lovely & sweet international family traveled from where they're living in Africa for a holiday in Mauritius and drove from the North to me in the West for a fun-filled photo session in one of my favorite locations. We played next to the sugar cane fields and then moved to Tamarin Bay where we all had a blast during high tide with big waves - and we all got very wet! It was well worth it. I felt so happy after my time with them. I hope they come back next year.

If you're planning a holiday in Mauritius, it's a great idea to have a family photo shoot while you're here. You need to be in the photos too! I love photographing the love and connection of a family in the most beautiful locations in Mauritius. Contact me and let's chat!

Remember my gorgeous family of three and their family maternity session in the sugar cane field? Well, now they're a family of four! It's such an honor to be in the space of a family who have just welcomed a new addition. Things are peaceful, yet hectic, full of wonder and deep love and also worry. The parents are getting to know and care for the new little one while learning to balance their attention between the new arrival and the first born, who isn't always as happy as everyone else is about this new person in his life. But Natasha and Jacques were handling it all beautifully and this little "big" brother Jake was doing just fine when I was there. He is such a sweet heart! And look how beautiful his new 7 days old sister Erin is. Congrats to the Nel family, now complete. Thanks for inviting me in to witness it all.

Sunset in the Sugar Cane: A gorgeous, growing family & maternity session | Mauritius Family Photographer

The Nel family is not only stunning, but also so full of love. During our session, I kept looking at the back of my camera and exclaiming "Omg, that's SO gorgeous!" The light! The love! I often tell my clients before we begin that I want them to just relax and connect with each other and have a good time just being together and that I will capture that love and connection. The Nels were a dream. And look at the smiles on that cute little Jake! I wish them all the best as they become a family of four. I'll be seeing them next week for some newborn cuddles (oh, and photographs!)

A Secret Wedding | Mauritius Elopement Photographer

I can finally ask you: Wanna see a secret wedding photo session? Peter and Marion told not a soul - not even their parents - that they were eloping to Mauritius. After 6 years together, it probably wouldn’t have been all that surprising - but still! A secret wedding! Just the two of you (and your officiant, witness and photographer). How romantic! The wedding ceremony was quiet and lovely, but rainy, at the beautiful B & B The River House in Tamarin Bay, so we had to postpone their couple's photo shoot until the next day. They had a special spot in mind, just past Le Morne, which they had seen in their travels a few days before. We had perfect weather and gorgeous moments they'll remember forever, and some laughs about some scary looking sea cucumbers.  And listen to how they announced they'd gotten married: they took one of the photos from our session and emailed it to a company in Germany that would print it on a post card and send it to all of their friends and family within 24 hours. So unique….can you imagine the reactions of their families?! These two newlyweds absolutely put the “Love” in “Love from Mauritius”. I hope they come back for their anniversary next year.

Forest Family & Maternity Session | Mauritius Family Photographer

One of my favorite new things in my business is having an in-person planning session with a photo client. We get to know each other and by the time we have the session, we're all relaxed and comfortable to just be ourselves. Also, we can cover so many more details and collaborate on ideas much more so than in emails. For example, what kind of images do they dream of having? What will they wear? Which location? Which walls will the canvases go on? And at this gorgeous family's planning session we discovered that they'd actually like to have their session in the National Park as opposed to the beach, as they originally thought. Yay! I love the beach but there's something so special about these woods...the quiet, the coolness, the immensity of the trees. And this is a very special time in their lives, before they become a family of four. Life is about to change for all of them as they welcome a sweet new baby...but especially for this adorable little guy who is about to become a big brother. He's going to be so great.
